Train by SpO₂ Zones

Your SpO₂ response determines the intensity of your hypoxic stimulus. RedPlus uses five zones to help you control and repeat that stimulus — just like power or heart-rate zones in endurance training.

How to use the zones

1. Perform your breath-hold.
2. Start breathing normally.
3. SpO₂ will continue falling 15-35sec. after.
4. RedPlus records the lowest SpO₂ value.
5. Use the zone to determine the intensity of the stimulus.

Lower is not better

The goal is not to achieve the lowest possible SpO₂. The goal is to create the right stimulus repeatedly and safely.

Your SpO₂ can change from day to day and it is Normal

Your response may vary depending on:

  • recovery

  • fatigue

  • recent training

  • altitude exposure

  • breathing pattern

  • individual response
